Ronald Ernest "Ron" Paul (b. August 20, 1935) is a paleolibertarian American physician, author, Republican Congressman, and repeat candidate for the office of President of the United States. Paul is the most outspoken critic of the bloated United States federal government, opposing federal spending and taxes, the USA PATRIOT Act, TARP, and the War on Terror. However, Paul is for more government control at the state level, believing states should be able to make laws in line with Christian views. Paul has been elected to ten terms in the U.S. House of Representatives (representing Texas's 14th District), and returned to his medical practice for twelve years.

Paul is currently running for the Republican Party's nomination for the 2012 U.S. Presidential election.
