TRIUMF

TRIUMF is a Canadian national research center in particle beam physics, home of the world's largest cyclotron, and one of the three largest particle beam facilities in the world. Located on the campus of the University of British Columbia (UBC), its name comes from TRI-University Meson Facility, originally UBC, Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria. Subsequently, the University of Alberta,Carleton University, the University of Toronto, and the Université de Montréal have become full members, along with six other Canadian academic institutions as associate members. It is funded by the National Research Council of Canada.

In addition to basic research, it provides advanced radiology at the UBC Hospital and School of Medicine:
