McDonald's Corporation is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. McDonald's sells food items such as hamburgers, French fries, desserts, chicken products, fish products, breakfast foods, and salads. McDonald's began as a stand owned by the McDonald brothers and the present corporation dates back to founder Ray Kroc's first franchised restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois.

McDonald's was founded as a business in 1940, by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald, selling hamburgers and establishing the principles of the modern fast food restaurant.
