RationalWiki

RationalWiki (RW) is a wiki created by people who were banned from Conservapedia. It serves to critique and mock Conservapedia, as well as house articles on subjects following a certain mission. These mission statements are:

• Analyzing and refuting pseudoscience and the anti-science movement.
• Documenting the full range of crank ideas.
• Explorations of authoritarianism and fundamentalism.
• Analysis and criticism of how these subjects are handled in the media.

The original RationalWiki (1.0) was used to plan vandal attacks on Conservapedia, and it was not accessible to unregistered users. A Conservapedia administrator created an account there, and several others shared that account to see what they were saying on RW. The users participated in RW were banned, and the name of the site was put in Conservapedia's site filter. The current incarnation of RW (2.0) was created, and the contents of 1.0 are not publicly accessible. There are many "Post-Conservapedia" users on RW, who want the site to focus on refuting what they call "pseudoscience" (e.g. creationism) and other topics of interest. Nonetheless, the site still has a focus on Conservapedia including an entire namespace dedicated to Conservapedia.
